Message from: Angèle Brunelle, Chair, Board of Directors, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre

As we begin this year, I am excited about the positive changes taking place at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. I believe that we will celebrate another great year as we move to a Program Management structure that will embrace our Patient and Family Centred Care Model of Care.

Change is a time of opportunity for us and our dyad leadership. Our staff and physicians will rise to the challenge as we embrace our new Strategic Plan. We have gone out and been recognized on national and international stages. Our care is inclusive and mindful as we strengthen our partnerships. The integration of our Patient and Family Advisors into our decision making is essential and welcomed. It is heart warming to watch our Volunteers as they continue to offer themselves tirelessly throughout our facility. Internally, we continue to do better, striving for engagement with our community. We are all leaders in care.

Planning sessions are being scheduled throughout January. This will indeed be a busy place for the next few months as the organizational re-alignment is finalized and the last ‘i’ is dotted and‘t’ crossed.

In closing, as the Chair of the Board of Directors, and on behalf of my fellow Board members, I want to say that it is a privilege to be associated with such an outstanding group of staff, physicians, and volunteers. There is an air of expectancy at TBRHSC as we take on our new challenges.
