New President & CEO Assumes Responsibilities at TBRHSC
October 1, 2010
Becoming the new President and CEO of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) is a great honour. And, the support
from the Board of Directors, physicians and staff is wonderful. It confirms my feeling that this is an extraordinarily beautiful
healthcare facility with outstanding people working here. The celebration that I want to note, though, is what I have heard and
seen about TBRHSC. It comes from the patients and families who are in agreement about the world-class care that they receive.
The “spirit of caring” is an embedded culture at TBRHSC. Adding a research and academic component just makes the opportunity
for healing that much better. I want to work in a place like this. It is a privilege to do so.
“Caring Together” is the way we put it. Our healthcare teams are setting a standard of excellence that reflects our commitment
to be the best. As the new President and CEO of TBRHSC, I have accepted the challenge to support and lead an already great organization.
As I meet with staff, physicians, volunteers, and all the stakeholders that we are uniquely integrated with, the task of working together
becomes less daunting because it is clear that we are collaborating as members of a team with a common purpose.
Please know that I am very much interested in your ideas. I thrive on the input of people who want to make things work better. Thank
you for letting me be a part of your team.
