These newer and more efficient technologies will allow more procedures to be performed, which in turn will reduce wait times for our patients.

A breakdown of the $5,020,000 is as follows:

  • 1 replacement MRI machine, $3,000,000 – will allow for an additional 700 exams per year
  • 1 replacement Cardiac Catheterization Unit, $1,910,000 – will allow for an additional 140 procedures per year
  • 288 additional hours of MRI service, $110,000 – will allow for an additional 432 exams per year

Our partner, the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation will be working with us to raise the additional funds required to fully fund the purchase and implementation of the new Cardiac Catheterization Lab and the MRI.
