 The
week of September 12 - 15th is a very significant one for
the Management and Staff of Seasons Gift Shop. We are celebrating
the anniversary of our First Year in Business. What a year
it has been!
An oasis in the core of the Health Sciences Centre, as a
“jewel in the Lobby”, Seasons continues to provide
exciting merchandise to all of our customers. The word is
out – “If you see it buy it. It will be gone the
next day.” We always have a greeter in the form of Mr.
Moosey, Gina, the stunning mannequin, the white Twin Giraffes,
and now Bentley, the fishing Bear with his son. The former
items have all been sold.
Our beautiful lime green flower cart continues to showcase
a hint of what is inside. Jewelry sales are fabulous and a
greater selection will soon be available. Our plush items
are a hit with children of all ages, while the stain glass
windows must also be mentioned - we cannot keep them on display
for very long. Seasons is also a full service Lottery Shop
and this too is doing very well.
If you a looking for a small gift for a patient or a major
gift for a Bridal Shower, a Wedding, a house-warming gift,
a birthday gift, Seasons is the place for you. Gift cards
are readily available and each and every gift leaves the shop
in an attractive gift bag and tissue for the Season, of course.
For
complete information regarding the services offered at Season's,
please visit the Gift
Shop web page.
The number of volunteer hours in Seasons is also noteworthy.
Over the last year, our 39 Volunteers logged over 4,000 hours
serving clients.
Staff, patients and visitors alike continue to help one another
by supporting Seasons. Every single customer who makes a purchase
at Seasons supports the Volunteer Association who in turn
supports the Health Sciences Centre. The Volunteer Association
is dedicated to TBRHSC’s mission statement: “Patient
care is our focus.” Thank you for allowing us to fulfil
that motto. Your purchases have helped us reach our $500,000.00
pledge to the Building Campaign. In addition, your support
has also contributed to the purchase of the following equipment
in the past year:
- a Bladder Scanner in Diagnostic Imaging
- 3 Saturation Monitors in Emergency
- 15 Transport Chairs
- 2 Warming Lights in Emergency
- 3 Epidural Pumps in Recovery
- 3 Vital Sign Monitors in Emergency
- a Hemodialysis Machine
Thank you, one and all for a very successful year.
Judy Perrier – Chair of the Gift Shop Committee
