Teach your child not to approach a dog he/she doesn’t
know. Tell your child to never surprise or scare a dog.
Tips for Insects
- Check your home for bee or wasp nests by looking in eaves,
under decks, etc.
- Avoid areas with insect nests.
- Tell your child not to touch or throw things at nests.
- Keep as much of your child’s skin covered with clothing
(i.e. long sleeve shirt, long pants, socks, hat, etc.) to
avoid insect bites.
- By wearing light colored clothing, this may attract fewer
bugs.
- Avoid using any scented soaps or other products on your
child as fragrances can also attract insects.
- Only use insect repellents that are approved for children
and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- Consider applying insect repellents to clothing instead
of to skin so that the repellent isn’t absorbed into
your child’s skin.
- Wash off insect repellents as soon as possible.
