Bicycle/Rollerblading/In-line Skating Safety

Explain the rules of the road to your child. Teach your child proper hand signals and never allow headphones to be worn while riding.

Quick Tips

  • Make sure your child’s bike is the appropriate size.
  • Check your child’s bike to make sure the brakes, reflectors and tires are working properly.
  • Children always need to wear a helmet when on a bike, scooter, skateboard or rollerblades.
  • Children should wear knee and elbow pads for scooter riding, and add wrist guards for rollerblading or skateboarding.
